SEPT TVR[O METR] / COLONI Bull standing right before vexillum inscribed LEG / III / GAL in three lines; to lower right, murex shell. BMC -. Cf. CNG E-auction 315 (2013), 253 (bust also cuirassed). Rouvier -. Rare. Beautiful earthen highlights. Minor cleaning marks and with the reverse struck slightly off center, otherwise, very fine.

The bull was the Emblem of the Legio III Gallica, some of whose veterans were settled in Tyre
